Hey guys/gals,

Does anyone know what size the 12 pt bolts are that hold on the rear driveshaft? I'm going to pull it tonight to have new u-joints pressed in and will need to get a socket (I don't have crap for star sockets).

Thanks!

off the top of my head i THINK they are 12mm

I just use a box wrench and hammer to loosen them.

Yeah they are 12mm.. and they arent really "star sockets", just regular 12-point sockets.

Sounds good. Thanks!

I have a 2000 Explorer Limited; the front Differential broke I try every socket there was to removed the drive shaft but but nothing fit. After a real close look I notice it also take a torque star in the middle! of the bolt, a #27 torque. Job Done!
