1998 explorer help!

My younger sisters 1998 ford explorer won't go past 30-40mph and after 2 min it stalls. Trying to be the wise big brother I told her sounds like the fuel pump. She doesn't have much cash at this point to take to mechanic, she just wants to know what it could be and what to expect when she does take it in. She is driving me crazy with the 100 questions everyday. Any thoughts?

does it do it all the time? i have a 95 that does it when i first start it up it could be a throttle position sensor as well.
