Ham Radio - CB - Trail Communications I have found that fourwheeling and ham radio go hand in hand. Post any questions or comments about the great hobby of amateur radio here. Of course CB'ers are welcome also. Ray, AE6H and Joe, N1LVN both moderate this forum.

I am unfamiliar with that antenna. It should work about the same as any antenna of that length. I wouldn't trust the $2.00 spring though. Just what people who run a parking garage wants, an antenna designed to drag across the roof and break their lights.

The brand is Astatic, they made some good microphones until another company bought them out and started using cheap components. The model is 82FL BK. I don't know that those are still being made anymore.

Good to hear about the coax, well I do have it on hand, so I figure I could use it. As for the antenna, I have never been in a parking garage in my truck, I mainly want it for drive thrus, and other short small crossings.
