How to improve MPG?

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer XL stock everything, is there anything I can add to help improve the MPG? thanks.

small tires help.

Not entirely correct. While smaller tires are easier to turn they will make the vehicle turn higher RPM's at cruzing speed eliminating the added bennifit of the reduced load. A narrower tire will reduce fuel consumption due to a smaller foot print causing less drag, but it will also reduce handeling to to the smaller foot print. Its a comprimise.
