The theme for the EF Lottery in October is "1st Wheeling Meet/Run"

Post media of the first time you took your rig to a wheeling meet or run and tell us where it was at and some memories you have from taking your rig out for the first time with others.

Drawing and ending date will be October 24th.

Note for November's theme: November's EF lottery will be a salute to the military.

Goal: To encourage members of the Explorer Forum to submit a photo in accordance with the theme and award one member with an one year elite membership.

Only one submission to be entered into the drawing per member. Submission can contain multiable pics and or video(s).
Members are encouraged to post positive feedback about other submissions. Please keep in mind that this not a chat thread.

Special instructions, if any, will be posted at the beginning of each month's theme.

The lottery is also to have fun, so being sarcastic and somewhat of a smart alec in your submission is not only welcomed, but also encouraged. Keep in mind we are a family site.

Procedure:

Announce the theme for the present month, ending date, and drawing date.

Eligibly: All members (except sponsor) are eligible.

A meetup with a local group a month ago. I had been running mild trails alone until then.
This is the highest point on the trail at an old mine.

Airing down at the trailhead. We had 7 rigs in all, and picked up one more on the way up for a total of 8.

Convoy to the trailhead.

View from the site of 2 other mines off a spur from the same trail.

Explorer led the way the whole day!!!

Not an official entry, but I had to post these to commemorate the first run I ever made with a member of the forum.

Bump!!

I know there are a lot more photos from people's first trips ;)

:chug:

First trip was to Gulches in 2012 and first time meeting other members. 01STrunner and another member I can't remember Ranger driver's name/screenname, sorry. Obviously been too long. It was a muddy day two and obviously I only have pictures from that day.

Here's a couple more from that trip. Although I wish I had one from down at the bottom OffTrac haha.

My first trip was to Uwharrie National Forest in NC with the Clemson Offroad club. Met a lot of cool guys that along with the help of this forum helped to get the Trac to what it is today. Not too many action shots unfortunately.

You talking about when I nearly lost my truck the day after paying it off?

Rick, you got a picture of the Truckhaven run where we are all parked, backed up on the hill behind the camp? I think it was from 1998. That was my first Explorer group run.
The other group runs I was in I was a baby.

I have this one from 2000. This is the setup for that photo that was used in the magazine.

That's the one. My Explorer is middle-right, with the tire on the roof and the yellow KC light covers.

That was a fun weekend :biggthump

hmmm i got some SMORR pics here somewhere,,

It was. Was that Sport Trac in the picture the only one on the west coast that Ford had at the time? I remember we bent up the sliders and they had to get them fixed before some big reveal show a few days after they brought it to Truckhaven.

I also think that was the last time Ford ever got involved in a off road event.

I've only ever been to 1 offroad meet here in the UK, it was back in 2009. I was the only Explorer owner there... Land Rovers are the offroad vehicle of choice here and the snobbery is unreal... I showed up and was told I wouldn't make it, would get stuck, would overheat, break down etc.... I didn't let it phase me and I can happily say they were all wrong... open diffs and the only modification being a set of mud tires and some shackles saw me keep up with these Land Rovers without any problem at all... :p

I even took my 5 year old nephew and my mum along for the ride

I even got to drive through a fairly deep river
