My 2009 Ranger sport 4x4 has about 97k on the clock, lots of highway miles here and a strict maintence schedule........ so.... given this what could a realistic milage figure and life of this truck, thanks mjmcdowell

My 93 has been totaled twice (!) and has ~340,000 on it, original driveline with no engine work other than a intake gasket a while back.
It's the 4.0 btw.

I have seen several on craigslist with 200K+ miles. I had mine until about 130K and it was as good as ever.

We are running a 3.0L in an Escape with 248K right now and it runs fantastic.

Ranger with 280,000 miles, still running strong. I've had a few electrical gremlins ironed out along the way, but mechanically, the thing is solid.

Never give up on your strict maintenance schedules, those will keep your engine in top shape.

Eventually, all engines will need a rebuild/overhaul.(main seals, gaskets, etc) If I were to take a guess, I'd say with regular maintenance, they may last out to 500,000 miles before seals start to deteriorate. There's many variables there, but as an estimate, you could see some good life.
