I need my 1991 Ford ranger

My name is Shannon. I have no IDEA about how to fix and repair a vehicle. I am trying to help my husband fix our truck I listed the first post and didn't say anything about the truck. well here is what's up with the truck. it did start but didtn't stay running a n d idle very low and rough and now we have messed with it. I have googled and asked question after question . we checked spark plugs, relays ,maf sensor we messed with something. and now we can't get the truck to start at all
At all. it acts like it is not getting no fuel .oh and when we did get to start the only way it would stay running is when we kept our foot on the gas pedal. and also my husband spray starting could in by the intake or something but of would crank when he did that anyway I hope that all makes since I think I know what it is from reading the information I got but Iit don't hurt to get more advice so I am to suggestion thanks
