94 explorer trailer brakes

has anyone ever installed trailer brakes on a 94 Explorer I am having trouble trying to figure out where to tap in to install the controller. I do light towing but in the west lots of hills so want to save my brakes.

Do you mean how to install a brake controller? I have never done it to an explorer but I think you need an adapter plug, and then the directions tell you how to match it up to the controllers plug. It plugs into a spot that should say something about 6 way or 7 way controller. I am assuming your trailer already has bakes and all the wiring installed, and you are using a 6 pin to 4 pin trailer adapter.
