It is really sad that some have this issue and many don't. I'm at 3 1/2 years old with almost 69,000 miles and it is bone dry. Never a drop, nothing is rusted..

That is the way it should be.. I don't get why others have these issues..

But now it is a Dealer induced problem and ford will tell you they can not help. It is between you and the dealer. Good luck.

How is this a dealer induced problem? The work is done under warranty. It's A FORD problem until the warranty is up. The vehicle leaks because of terrible workmanship an and even worse QA/QC. This is my last Ford vehicle. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking of the problems to come. I know for a fact it's going to eventually start leaking again. I've tried to contact the regional service rep. He never picks up his GD phone. The dealership has actually been extremely helpful.

Still leaking. It's raining here today and it's the same old leak in the in the same old place. Has anyone here had any dealings with CAMVAP? I'm not confident that they will get this fixed and I'm not willing to have a $50,000 car that leaks. It's been in the shop now for over a week and a half it is getting very frustrating to have to take time out of my schedule to bring this car up to have a leak fixed on a vehicle that shouldn't leak to begin with.

Broken strut has the dealer jacked up the rear end only ?? The water hose will not flow enough water to simulate a rain shower. The rear rain canal would handle the hose without leaking but with the rear end up it filled the canal up and leaked. This simulated a higher amount of water in the canal. My dealer induced problems were the idiots breaking the trim parts and leaving out the wet sound insulation.

Yes. They patched those areas. Still leaking though? Stumped'

I checked into your case, broken strut; I see that the CSM and dealer have been in communication, but that you haven't received a call since 9/30, when they left a voicemail. Did you receive that message? Please let me know if you'd like for me to submit a request for a follow-up call to be made as soon as possible.

Yes please. It has started to leak again! I haven't had a chance to make it up to the dealer as I am extremely busy at the moment.

Thanks,

I just purchased a 2015 Sport Explorer. It is leaking at the 3rd row seat belt just like others posted here. Got an appointment after 2 weeks and 3 calls to have it looked at. Will give updates as I get them.

So it seems the 'tradition' carries on for a 5th model year. Sorry to hear about that Backman0001. This totally unacceptable on Ford's part. :(:thumbdwn::thumbdwn:

Thanks for offering to update us, Backman0001. Additionally, I'd like to escalate this to your regional customer service manager. Send me a private message with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll do the rest.

My leak happened at 45,000 miles. Called the Ford customer relationship center. No luck there. Got told what my warranty is and that was it. Had it fixed by a water leak specialist that came out to my dealer. Cost me about $200.00. No more leaks.

I know it happened out of warranty but it seems like it is happening to a lot of people. I'll be saving my receipt in case ford decides to do some kind thing where they will cover this issue out of warranty.

If you are trying to do this out of warranty BE SURE TO SHOP AROUND. Got a quote from a specialist to come to my home that was around $400. He wanted $200 for "each side". Just shop around it is worth it.

I would have paid 200 just to have had mine fixed right the first time. 9 trips to dealer and over 20 days in shop. Hope they got yours right. I am waiting on a good rain to check mine.

By any chance was the fix made by Water Doctors of PA? (all contractors)
Im emailing them in my area and they do have some testimonials from Ford...

That is who quoted me the more expensive price and wanted to charge me to seal each side individually. I used a sole proprietor that would only go to Mathews Paoli Ford. I think he was out of Delaware. My ex hasn't been through a heavy rain yet but the guy that did the repair assure me that it wouldn't leak and that he would fix the issue in the unlikely event that it did. He charged around $175 for the repair and the rest of the cost was the cost to rent the shop space in the dealer's shop.

Just got it back. I was really worried about how this would go. For having to get a new vehicle repaired. It went well. The service was good. According to the service rep, it was a missing drain hose from the sun/moonroof that runs the water out the back.

Thanks for sharing your results with us, Backman0001! If anything comes up in the future, don't hesitate to contact me.

Well add my car to the list of explorers with water leaking in on the third row passenger side. Really starting to second guess my purchase.

I took a bunch of photos...that should make it harder for the dealership to say "unable to confirm customer concern"

Took my Ex in this morning. Was told that water leaks aren't covered by the 12/12,000 certified pre owned warranty. :(

Contact the rep 2 posts below and start a case, document everything you do with dealership, take your own pics/video as well.
You have a factory warranty and the CPO warranty - is that from the dealer only?
How many miles are on it?
