Motorcraft synthetic blend oil 5W20

I own a new 2015 Explorer, and have almost 3000 miles on it now. I wanted to do my first oil change, and thought Motorcraft 5W20 synthetic blend would be good to use in it from here on out. Maybe 10W30 weight for the hot Texas summer months, since most of the time driving will be spent in city traffic jams. Any advise??

Good choice for oil. use Motorcraft filter. Best price for both is at WALMART.

I wouldn't advise using 10W-30 in a 2015 engine that specs 5W-20.

I'd use 5W-20, or at most 5W-30 during hot, hot summer months.


Motorcraft Synthetic Blend is good oil. Motorcraft filter is a good choice too.

The "100 degree plus" Texas summers we have here, are cruel on engines and transmissions !

Go with the oil that the manual calls for. You can't go wrong with Motorcraft OEM oil and filter.
