how much is shop going to charge?

well, i need a transmission rebuild on my 5 speed. the rebuild kit for it is already about $300(which i haven't orderd), that's if i do it myself. i already have the transmission out and everything. so was wondering if you guys could give me an estimate if i took it to the shop. was wondering if it was worth it doing it myself or let them do it.

I have no idea what a shop would charge, but if you already have it out, you are probably at least a little mechanicly inclined, I say do it yourself. There isnt too much to the manual trannys.

does anyone know where i can get a rebuild kit for under $260? i'm gonna need the imput shaft, with the bearings, and the cluster gears. if you know of any places that has those for a better deal then $260 please tell me.
