I CANNOT find the horn in my 1999 Ford Explorer Sport.

I was going to install an aftermarket horn but after several responsed I am going to try to FIX the existing horn.

I cannot locate the horn. Manual has nothing on it.

If you know where the horn is located, give me a heads up!

Thank you!

Do I go in from the bottom, top, front.

I have looked all around that area and do not see that horn.

Is it hidden behind anything?

If you can give me a clue on how to get to it......would be great.

I spent an hour this morning removing the shroud under the radiator, the left front tire......saw nothing but parking light and headlight connections.

Thanks for any more detailed help.

Yes, the vehicle has something that looks like that.

So I should just take out all the screws/bolts holding it on and look under there?

Will do that tomorrow for sure!

Thanks a lot! I'm excited!

I need to get that horn fixed ........PRONTO!

10-4. Also a good time to clean the crispy critters off the radiator.

I still cannot find the horn's location.

Here is what I did......I pressed the horn actuator button on the Master Key and the lights started flashing.

There was a clicking from the under-hood fuse box that kept time with the lights flashing. No horn sound.

I had a helper press the horn button and a "click" was heard each time from the under-hood fuse box.

Does this information help in any way as to why the horn will not blow?

I really need to find the LOCATION of that horn. This is frustrating.

Thanks for any info

It should be on the left side of the radiator support, but down towards the bottom. Easiest way to get to it would be from the wheel well. You'll prolly hafta pull the inner fender back a bit to get to it.

Maybe that is why it doesn't work? Cause it isn't there!

I don't know where it is but I am curious now gonna go take a look at mine and see if I can find it.

I still have not found the horn's location.

My vehicle is a Ford Explorer "sport".

It is 4 wheel drive

6 cylinder .......SOHC

What shape is the horn? So far, all I have seen is the parking and headlight modules in the areas that various posters have suggested that the horn might be located.

I get a "sound" from the fuse box under the hood when a helper presses the horn button.....a definite "click".

Does this mean that my steering wheel connection is ok?

I feel that I can check out the horn with a jumper wire to the battery if I COULD ONLY LOCATE THE HORN.

Let me know if you have information that will help me find this horn.

Thank you, Chuckwagon

My 98 has the horn on the frame rail down under the battery. Easiest to get under the vehicle to replace it.

Do you have to remove the splash shield in order to see or remove the horn?

My vehicle is a 1999 Ford Explorer SPORT

There is nothing under my hood like what is in the diagram that you sent.

Thanks for trying.

I still cannot find the horn.

Have you physically looked behind the drivers side fender apron?

Have you physically moved and looked behind the drivers side fender apron?

Yes.....the front part only.....not the entire shroud in the fender.

I saw nothing that could be a horn.
