After 14 years, 145k+ miles, it's time to rebuild the front end of the Superduty. It is all factory - never been touched that I could tell. I also had the front passenger side caliper hung up which it destroyed itself, the rotor, and the pads. I actually had the metal backing plate fall out of the caliper a few weeks ago - which means it was immediately parked
I just did not realize how expensive this could get.
Powerslot Cryogenic treated slotted (no drilling) rotors - $145 EA
Powerslot Calipers - $180 for a complete set, no-core charge.
Hawk extreme duty pads - ferro-ceramic - $90 a set.
Moog tie rod ends - from $30 to $110 ea.
Moog ball joints - $80ea side
Seals - another $100 per side (1 o-ring, 2 oil seals)
Vacuum lines - $3, but needed.
Destroyed ABS sensor - $90.
I am also going to upgrade the front sway bar to a bigger hellwig bar.
Also have new pads, rotors, and calipers for the rear also, along with updated sway bar end links.
Going to try and change out all the brake fluid when I bleed the brakes. Have a powerbleeder with the Ford cap for the master cylinder, never used one of those before.
