I would like to get some feedback from you guys. I originally posted this in the Explorer Forum and it was suggested that I asked you guys as well since you're more familiar with the 5.4L engine.
I'm looking for a good used SUV and I have found two used vehicles that are priced the same. A 2004 Ford Explorer XLT, V-6 4.0L with 105K and a 2006 Ford Expedition XLT, V-8 5.4L with 166K. Since it's not the same model or engine, I cannot go by the miles alone to make my decision. Is the V-8 a better, longer lasting engine and on average (even with the 60,000 mile variation between the two) would it last longer than the V-6 engine? I would greatly appreciate any feedback you can offer me. Thanks.
