Im swapping the 4405 in my 2nd gen out for a 1354E that Ive made a manual shifter for, And Im just wondering about speed sensors. My 1354 came out of ym 1993 Ranger, and uses a 2 wire speed sensor with a cable drive for the speedometer, mounted on the output of the case. How does that fit in with the Explorer wiring? Its electric speedo, is it a matter of wiring the speed sensor? I looked from underneath the truck and I couldnt see a speed sensor on the 4405, unless it isnt as obvious and the 1354 sensor.

Your 2000 uses the rear differential sensor for speedo. I reckon you just leave the others unattached.

Alrighty, Ill just keep the sensor in to seal it then. Thanks man

Alright so the case is in and all is well but every now and the the 4wd high and low lights flash, in no particular pattern or anything, mostly when I go over bumps. Is the shift motor plug just grounding? I just unplugged it and left it dangling

Just trouble codes from the connector, as it no longer has sensors to read.
