My 1994 Aerostar is blowing oil.

I have a 1994 aerostar extended van. it started leaking oil could not find leak changed oil and filter no leak. went on trip after about 75 miles say smoke behind me looked at pressure guage no oil pressure stopped looked under van oil was running from front half of engine. fillup with oil drove van stopping to check and add oil as needed. returned home checking oil. Only minor leak. BY about 250 miles checked full of oil. What caused it where did it come from. checked sending unit, oil pan, oil drain plug, low oil sensor, no leaks found even checked front seal, still no oil pressure. Please HELP.

Welcome to this forum! There should be a run mark from the oil somewhere on the engine. Does this only occur when the van is running hot on the highway? Do you have a 3.0L or a 4.0L engine?

Lucas stop leak for engines is pretty good. I had to add a quart a month before I used it. Your leak should be easy to locate since it's a major leak.

I wouldn't trust the factory gauge if you were able to drive 250 miles with 0 psi. Get a mechanical gauge. As far as the oil leak it could be from a crack in the head or blown head gasket.
