Exclamation A/C Blowing Hot Air (surprise!)

It had been doing this for about a year and I made it through last summer but I decided to fix it for this summer.

I got a 'new' compressor from the junk yard and installed it; it seems to work and clicks when turned on. Also, after replacement, I got it fully recharged at a garage.

After the replacement and recharge, the AC worked great for the first day. Worked 'ok' on the second day. And by the third day it was just blowing hot air.

I'm not sure exactly what the problem can be as I don't have a ton of experience with AC stuff. Does anyone have experience with this situation or any logical suggestions for me to investigate?

Thanks

Sounds like it has leaked out already. Have a good AC shop pressurize the system and identify leaks. They may have to use freon with dye to find the leak.

A junkyard compressor, though new, could still be leaking from the front seal. Don't rule out any possibilities. O-rings don't last forever and neither do hoses but a good AC shop will be able to find the issue and help you fix it for cheap.
