2003 Mountaineer

Trying to figure out what size camper I could tow with my 03 v8 awd mountaineer . I have read towing capacity is just under 7k I would like to stay below that . The camper isn't going to be used all the time just a few times a yr so the family can enjoy being out doors and not being in a tent ( we have a 4 month old and a 3 yr old ) .

My obvious answer is: A camper that is under 7k in weight.

Suggesting a camper is difficult. A lot depends on what you are looking for. A popup, a toy hauler, a teardrop, or just a big travel trailer. What I would do is go look at the different types. Find what suits your budget and desire. Then see what the weights are for different sizes. Many new TT's are being built lightweight to be towable by smaller vehicles.

With us possibly moving soon I'm going to hold off and figure out a few things with my Mountaineer. I have other posts open for issues I've been having and I hope some of them if not all of them can be corrected .
