If ya go wheel spacers, make the front ones a 1/4" wider than the rear and it'll make the front and rear track equal (for some reason 3rd gen have a narrower front track than rear?)

I've had mine on for the last 20,000 mile with no drama's.

Just make sure you get photos towing that pootrol out of a bog when it happens!

3rd gens are wider in the front than the back actually, it helps reduce the turning radius

i went 1.5" front and back. i like to keep the radius down :D

Well I never actually measured:eek::D

Just going on what the manual says in the specs on page 200.

Track width, front 60.9"
Track width, rear 61.3"

Once I put the wheel spacers on it got rid of that nose down feeling in corners and made her heaps more stable.

Thinking of the possibilty of difference in US and Oz models but dont reckon the FoMoCo would want to spend extra money modifying. Anyone up there got their manual handy?

Us an Aus models run the same front and rear drive shafts so I wouldn't imagine there would be a difference between us an them.

No wukka's mate, cos I aint measured the front and rear tracks I've found meself on the back foot :D

Where did you get the front wide fenders?

Wide fenders look great. I just sold my '02 XLT and bought... another '02 explorer. This time it's a black limited.

Only thing left i want to do is an XLT front bumper/fogs and possibly a roof basket.

Great job, looks wicked!!!

Derekbrue, that looks really good with the combination of the grill and wheels and lift. One of the best ones I've seen on here without too many mods, no offense to anyone, I just really like the simple combination

two years in, little by little it's coming along.
about to break 114K, i love this thing.

I really like how clean this setup is! I just ordered a set of four of the 17" wheels like these, great looking rig!

thanks man ! they're stock i think, new tires and black rims are on the way before the winter, the rims look a little eroded from driving with all the salt on the road in the northeast.
