Front axle nut torque.

99 sport.4 wheel drive.Anyone know the torque on the fromt axle nut?I searched and found answers ranging from 176 ft/lbs -250 ft/lbs.

i did mine at 175 lbs,and that was all good, on my shakedown run i drove 1100 miles, no problems,
 






I appreciate the info.I had done one about 3 years ago and for some reason I had 170 in my head but I wanted to make sure.
 






175 is within the acceptable range.

2005 4x4 Ranger

Is the torque the same on 2005I just replaced the bearing hubs..I cannot find specs anywhere. At this point they are at 148ft.lbs... Please help. And thanks for taking time to read this. .
 






Sorry, I don't have the manual for 2005. Just 97 and 99.

Did you replaced the nuts too?

I bought one from NAPA that the specs were only 140 pounds. I think each manufacturer has their own specs on them.
 






What about for a 91 ford explorer 4x4 ...?
