Question about Mod Chips

I see these Mod chips on EBAY for like $4 and it says that it will give you 20HP and stuff of that nature.

Now I'm 99% sure this is false, but what is it, how does it work, and do any of you have them?

its probably the resistor IAT mod... look it up... the part costs $.05 @ radioshack

also, the new cars are wise to it, so it wont really do anything other than waste gas
