wheel spacers?
anyone use wheel spacers? bad idea? i have 35x12.50 tires with a 3.75bs wheels and they still rub on my control arms. i was thinking about putting 1/2" wheel spacers behind the rims to give me a little more clearance. what do yall think?

Wheel spacers have been used for years with great results. The spacers with studs built in are the best. Make sure you re-torque them once in a while. Watch out for the spacers that just sit over your lugs. For this to be done properly, you will need to replace your factory studs with longer/stronger ones.

I have both types...the slip-on ones in the front, only like 5/16ths, I think, and 1 1/4" stud-type in the rear. The rears were so sunken in on the back of my EB that it needed more "push" than the front did. I don't like the slip-on ones, but they're small enough to where I'm not so worried.
And yes, re-torque. __________________ 1997 Eddie Bauer V8 AWD, 105K 1967 VW Beetle, currently under restoration (anyone wanna do paint and body work?) 1982 18' Renken Bowrider, SOLD! 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 1951 Chrysler Windsor, 39,000 orig miles |
