I have the Dual Media Audio system in my '98 Explorer Sport and the display has gone out. The system still plays, but I have no display. Is there an easy fix like replacing bulbs or something? Do I need to get a new system?

If it's still under warranty, stop by your local Ford dealership. They'll replace the CD player display area.. if not, plan on buying a new one. :\

I'd shop eBay for a new one rather than buying it from Ford, IMO.

This is a common problem and it can definitely be fixed. I sent mine out for repair.

These are the guys I used:

They did a real good job and the turnaround was real quick. I seem to remember that I sent them the radio UPS on a Monday and had it back and in the dash on Thursday.

I wound up doing this before I discovered this site. I have since seen threads on this same problem here so you may want to do a search. I think there may be some instructions on fixing it yourself if you don't want to send it out. To me, the cost was worth it.

I just did a search for radio display and came up with this thread:

This should give you a good starting point to resolve your display problem.
