the base color will be the same as it is now... otherwise if you think about it for a second my wheels won't match. also, i see no benefit in using a different (read more expensive) color for the white.

makes sense right?

broke my freakin' dewalt angle grinder today.

just wouldn't turn on one time. really pisses me off. i odn't have the receipt what do you think my best chance is to get it fixed?

i went and got the cheapo one at walmart for $26 for now, but i'd really like my dewalt back its only 5 or 6 months old. fiberglass ruins everything...

Dewalt will probably replace it. Fiberglass is tough but not nearly as tough as metal, and that's what it's made for. I have a pretty cheap Ryobi and I've put it thru hell and back and it still works good as new. I've been trying to break it so I have an excuse to buy a bigger one but the damn thing won't budge.

think i should just call their customer service line?

it wasn't the glass cutting that did it, it was the dust btw

Was bored in class today and started drawing. Decided I would try and draw your X. It was straight from memory and the flames dont quite match up but you get the point:

thats awesome man!

better than i can do for sure. i have thousands of similar drawings in my notes. I have probably designed 100 different sets of wheels during classes too. Only problem is no matter what i can't draw anything but trucks and suv's. every car i do turns out awful unless its a hatchback...

i'm gonna keep that pictures saved.

i had a similiar problem w/ my black and decker drill. I was using it remove some old bondo. Lots of dust and then one time it just didn't work. My uncle pulled it apart for me and cleaned out the bearings by the chuck. He slapped it all back togther and it is good as new.

With a Dewalt I would try and go through customer serive first and see if they can't do anything with it. Maybe aloud to you using in a dusty work enviroment and suggest that might have screwed it up or something. Just play a little dumb and don't mention extensive use on the fiberglass.

if you can't get anything through customer service, try and pull it apart and clean it out. More than likely the bearing is seized up from the fiberglass dust.

maybe i should mention that the first thing i did was take it apart, which didn't lead to much. i used pressurized air to try to clean everything. maybe a more complete cleaning is in order.

my dremel tool did about the same thing 2 weeks ago...

everyone says to use air tools when working with glass, and its true. i just don't have the $$ to buy all new tools to use with my much to small compressor

Your truck is 90% fiberglass now. It took me an hour to get through this thread, and all I can say is WOW. I can't wait to see it when it is "done."

How do you find the time?

we also got Mike's box done this weekend with the 15s. I'll let him tell the story about how much fun we had after we hooked it up in the garage.

he might have another story to tell about it too.

i'm happy with his set-up and can't wait to get the fiberglass work for it done as well.

just a tad of overspray on the radiator 'eh? =)

Lookin good... I wish I could get a fresh coat of paint on mine.

I doubt the white paint would effect much on the rear bulbs... but what do I know?

Curious - will the paint on the door handle hold up to being used?

Is that the roof rack still on that I see in one of the painted pictures? You didn't remove that first if it's still there? I lovee white too. Tried to trade my X and some cash to a church lady that had one just like mine except it was white with a 5.0 and only had 43K on it. She even loved my red X, but she said no, we will just admire each other's from a distance. LOL.

yes, i'm keeping the roof rack.

i carry my mountain bike up there often.

the rails will be painted white though, but the crossbars are still stock they'll just be off when the bike isn't being carried.
