Yup, Im here. There are a few of us here. We usually go wheeling a couple times a year. We will definately have to go wheeling or something.

A long while, huh? You get moved to Kirtland AFB?

Yes I'm here at Kirtland but for school only. I'll be here for about 8 months to a year, I found this out last week .

My explorer's not wheelable because of mismatched ratio's, 5.13 front and 4.56 rear. I decided not to throw in the 9" w/ 5.13's because of the drive here and the 35" tires. That will soon change as soon as the 37's come in.

So, who's up for a meet and greet?

I'm back here at ABQ again. I just hope the rain would pour instead of light rain and dust storms .

Any wheeling trip you guys have planned in the near future?

Cool! I should be off on weekends since I won't start flying for about a month. I need to cut my sliders off and do some trimming.

Do you guys know who does cages around town?

For cages there is only 1 place that I would go to, it is Schuit Over Built and it is on the other side of the mountain. I will get some contact info for you if you want. I would do it, I have a hydro tube bender and welder but im not experienced enough yet.

I just want a cage for the front (driver and passenger) for now. I have a design in my head. If your willing to bend me some tubes (tacked also) that would be awesome and I'll do the welding here on the base hobby shop.

Did you buy the hydro kit or bought the parts and built it in yourself? I would like to get a bender once I get a house, so i need some ideas. TIA

Okay Im back in town. I bought the hydro parts myself and converted my manual to hydro.

I could probably bend what you want and tack it for you. Well talk about it whenever we go wheeling.

Are the trails close by? I know Las Cruces (kinda far) and Farmington (not too bad of a drive) but haven't heard of any local Albuquerque trails.

How was the race at Texas?

There a few close by. On the westside there is the Rio Puerco which does have some very challenging parts if you can find them since it is a very big place. Also there is in the canyon which is easy with a few side challenges. There are tons of trails up in the Jemez mountains North of here with stream crossings which should be high with all this rain we have had. Nothing too challenging though. To the farther west is Cimarron Mesa which is very challenging, I have never been there and dont know its exact location. Down south near Las Lunas is a trail called Jaws which has some challenging parts but I have never been down there either. There are a few more within about a 2 hour drive as well.

The race was good, our team did really well but didnt place. We were competitive and everyone was impressed with us. Here is a pic (from a previous competition) of 1 of the cars we had out there:*click*
