Any collision repair workers

Well on 5/26/2004 on my way home from work i got re-ended twice (from the same person because he got re-ended). I'm going through the hole sh*tty process with the insurance companies. One thing that I'm getting pissed off about is they only want to give me a check for about $2300 to fix my whole back-end.

Here's the damage (I'll post pics hopefully tomorrow):
-I'll definately need a new tailgate, but they'll have to angle in a license plate box and shave the handle and locks.
-Fix or replace the rear quarter panels that I welded on from a ranger
-new roll pan
-fix the dent behind the gas tank door
-replace a taillight
-Repainted the whole pack half of the car (roof and quarterpanels)

So, if anyone works at a repair shop, do you think that you could fix all this for that price.

I want to do all the work again myself, but I wont be able to cause that's not enough money.

You should be talking to an attorney, right now not a body man.

I could get started for that price
Sad truth is most insurance companies ignore custom body mod's.
Well most mods in gereral they ignore.
Some insurance companies will let you add a rider to your policy to allow for additional coverage of custom after market parts. But be prepaired to pay.

I would like to follow this thread but I will be going out of town tomorrow till Sunday.
Best of luck though.

I understand what your talking about, but that's only for your insurance company (if you caused the damage).

Well the guy in the second car, the guy covering the claim at his insurance hasn't even gotten the police report and the third cars claim person has been sick and out of the office. It's going to be a long time until I get my car fixed.

I'll hopefully get the pics up by tomorrow,

Well my point being is, you are only gonna get a check for just so much money.
Any thing beyond that is gonna cost you personally.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY!

Call your insurance company and file the claim that way. Your adjuster SHOULD account for all the work to return the truck to the state it was in before the accident. Your insurance company will then suprigate (probably misspelled) against theirs. Let the insurance companies handle all the details ... that is why they have 8 million lawyers on staff. If it's YOUR insurance company that is going you the run-around, look no further than the lawyer's section of the phone book ... the person that hit you (ultimately, 2 cars back) is responsible for this and his insurnace MUST pay. Don't settle for anything less than what you deserve!

He's right. Make 100% sure that it's not your fault first before claiming anything from your own insurance company. Then claim the money from your own insurance, minus deductible, and let them subrogate the other company for the money. That way, if your insurance claimed that it's not your fault, they can handle the problem instead of you if there're any discrepancies.

Why go through my insurance company when they'll only allow me $1000 to fix anything that is not factory (roll-pan, rear quarter panels, license plate box). I got rear-ended so, it's in no way my fault. So why should I have to pay anything.

I'm finally getting it fixed through the second persons insurance of all people. The third person's insurance company (the one at 80% fault) has been fitting me since the new claim person came in. I threatened to lawyer up and they're like oh well. So then I called the second one and asked where they were at with the claim and kind of took my frustrations out on them that were created by the third company and they said take it to whatever shop I want and they'll pay for it and then go back and get the money from the other insurance company. I'm taking it to a custom shop, that so far is one of two places that could do the work.
