Overdrive off light blinking

Does anybody know what it means when my overdrive off light is blinking at me, all my owners manual says is to "get the vehicle serviced at the soonest oppurtunity"

Sorry if there is another thread about this, but I don't have alot of time because I am getting ready to go on a trip

Thanks guys

Sounds like a new or rebuilt tranny is knocking on your door. Get it checked out and see what the problem is.

Tranny threw a code. Get the codes scanned to see what's up.

I did a search and found how to reset the computer, the light stopped blinking. I guess I am going to go ahead and drive it and if the light starts blinking again I will get the code checked. Thanks guys

We have a 01 sport trac and did the same thing. Take it to a garage and have them pull the code. All our problem was a vacuum leak(a hard line $27.00)we had to order it from alabama. Maybe yours is that simple. It caused all kind of trouble with ours as far as running and the 4 wheel drive wouldn't work.
