Check out my "new" boat!

A few months ago, I was looking into getting my own boat. I grew up around them, and learned on my dad's boat...but never had anything to use on my own since their's were a bit to expensive for me to screw up. Anyway, I picked this boat up about a month ago from a great friend of mine who went up a size. This is a 1989 25' Bayliner Trophy. It's got a cabin that sleep 4 comfortably, a BRAND NEW Chevy 350 V8, hydraulic trim tabs, brand new full canvas enclosure. I added a JBL Marine grade CD radio, and new speakers. This boat is FAST, and is simply a gem. It needs a good compund, and some wax, but it was already in the water at the time of the purcahse, so I'll get away with it for this year.

Oh, and it's got plenty of wells to store your fish. Check her out!

Actually, I got a great deal on this thing. My friend bought it for $3500, spent $4000 on the new engine and about $2000 on the canvas enclosure. When he bought his dad's Renken, he had to sell the Bayliner. He had it listed for $9500, which was his total investment, but I picked it up for $8000.

That is a very sweet deal and knowing the previous owner makes that much sweeter! Could you water ski behind it?

Most definately---and it makes a nice wake. For a bigger boat (and geared more for fishing, at that), it get up on plane with a quickness. It crusises at about 30MPH, and top speed is about 45...so, a skier could definately have a blast!

Oh man, we went last week and did pretty good. Lots of Blue's...the boat's capable of making it about 45 miles out (into the Ocean), although I haven't been out there with it yet. The previous owner used to take it out there quite a bit---to a place called "The Ridge" where they usually do pretty good catchin' Stripers.
