Upgrade from 50 to 40. Original? Delta Flow?

Well, it's time to upgrade. Right now I have the Flowmaster 50 Series SUV muffler that came with my cat-back. It sounds good, but it just ain't cuttin it when I wanna be heard. I'm gonna go with the 40 series, but should I go with the Delta Flow to cut out some of the noise, or just go with the all out loudness of the Original? Is there a big difference? Thanks in advance.

I had a 40 series DF on a 4.0 and it was perfect. Now I have a 50 SUV on a 5.0 and it's perfect. So if you are wanting louder then maybe the regular 40 would be a good choice for you.

Are you going to dump it or use a tailpipe?

I'm gonna be using a tailpipe. Got a 3" chrome tip on there that I wanna keep. So how did that DF sound? Was there a lot of interior noise? I'm just afraid that if I go too loud there'll be too much noise and not enough good raw sound. But, on the other hand, I've seen tons of people on here run Original 40's on here with no complaints so.....

I liked the tone. If anything It could have been a little louder. But I had the stock tailpipe. with your 3" tip it might be louder. I've never done a "regular" vs. "delta flow" sound test.

Riverat, is there any interior resonance with the 40 delta flow on the 4.0 OHV?
My Magnaflow has resonance at about 1600 rpm, other than that is sounds good.

Just a little. I have a super cab ranger so that might be different than an Ex. I usually have the radio up so I don't notice it. If anything the 40 delta flow was a little too quiet for my taste.
