Idle drops and shuts down engine

Hey guys, i hope you can help me as i am broke and have no money, well duh. So this is what happens. A while ago i started my car, and the rev-ometer went up to 2500 and began to drop to its idle stage, except it kept going till it shut down. I started again and it happened again, eventually after some more tries it started and was fine.

Today, same thing happened, except it never fixed itself. I have to fgive it gas, and shift into drive, while driving i have to lightly apply gas in order for it to work. Anyone know?

Cheers,

Mick

Thats a vacuum problem. I had something similar. One day i started my truck to find it doing the same thing. Checked my vacuum connections to find one line had come off of the vacuum tree. Seems the modular valve may be going and it blew the line off as a result. Check your vacuum lines throughout the engine, you may find a line disconnected. If not, take the IAC and clean it. If that don't help let us know. We will throw a few more suggestions at you. Good luck!
