Question anyone tried a jeep cherokee spare underbody

I was thinking if I put the jeep cherokee mini temporary spare tire underneath I could run a tailpipe out the drivers side. Also would look neater from the back since it would go further up and would not be seen from the back. Any comments for or against????

just make sure it can take the weight and also is the same diameter tire. The wheel bolt circle should be the same as your Explorer.

Other then that there is no reason not to

I did the opposite with my wife's Jeep, I pulled her doughnut out and slapped an Explorer spare back there.

The GC spare is good for 2300lbs, the BP is the same, and the rim is so skinny that the BS shouldn't matter. You would just have to make sure that it ends up on the front whenever you put it on.

Also, if you did it, I would throw the real spare in the back when you go on longer trips. Dealing with a doughnut spare while on the interstate is a PITA.

Thanks for the responses, I will be putting 18's on soon and using different front and rear sizes. I know that with the limited slip rear i will have to be careful about the tire sizes side to side.
