I do. Love it. It's hard to watch SDTV on the HDTV because you know what you are missing. Sports events are not the same without it. 16x9 really opens up the playing field in Football and you have a much better sense of where players are on the field. Its awesome, and if you can afford it, get it, because it is here to stay.

I've had mine for about 2.5 yrs. When watching INHD it's awesome. Providers would be DIRECTV, DISH, COMCAST, VOOM, USDTV and many others. I just dropped Comcast so no more HD for me. Even just watching DVDs are alot better than a Direct View TV.

We've had an HD-ready 60" Mitsubishi for a while now, and we just upgraded to an HDTV receiver (Dish Network) and Its very cool DISH doesn't have many channels in HD though, only 5 or so (plus PPV), and some of those aren't even true HD all the time (TNT, etc) plus you have to get a second dish because the HD feeds come off a different satellite. But if you compare Discovery Channel HD versus SD it is amazing the quality difference. Watching TV in 5.1 is also very cool.

I have a Panny 47" WS HDTV and I LOVE IT!!! I have Progressive Scan DVD player, so DVD are absolutely FLAWLESS!!!
I'm debating wether to switch to Voom or Dish HD....currently I have Directv, but DTV's HD is to costly for me...

My HD receiver's antenna has a Triple-LNB Multi-Satellite Dish and receives signal from 3 satellites all the time.

Does anyone get HDTV signals over the air?

Ok, I did some looking, and VOOM has 21 channels in HDTV. Thats 3x more than any other provider. IMO thats the way to go.

We get our HDTV programming from Cox Cable. Both Local HD and subscription channels. Discovery HD and INHD are excellent channels

Another issue I came up with considering Voom, let's say you only have one HDTV set, but you want a signal on another TV that is non-HD, so you have to pay Voom for a second HD receiver, but no ability for HD on the second tv...or...do you have 2 diff services.....

We use BHN HDTV because the cable coax network has WAY more bandwidth and thus room for expansion that sat.

For voom user's experiences, check out www.avsforum.com (the explorerforum of AV)

DVDs are *NOT* HD by any means. 480p is still not even close to 720p and nowhere near 1080i or better 1080p. BluRay and HD-DVD are both coming out thogh, which *are* HDTV. WM9 is also HDTV, so a HTPC is a good choice too, since WM9 compresses losslessly and VERY well.

I totally agree that DVD's are not HD. But, when comparing what these numbers mean, lines of resolution, 480p is not far from 1080i. Just like the line doublers in HDTV sets. No, not quite HD quality, but pretty close. I have seen a football game in HD, and yes, it blows ALL others OUT OF THE WATER!!!!

Nate....what is 1080p? Never heard of it...just curious....1080i is max for a HDTV set correct?

1080i is 1080 lines of interlaced resolution. 1080p is 1080 lines of progressive resolution. Technically, 1080p would offer twice the resolution of 1080i, and a smoother image.

1080p is an enormous task though, very few current HDTVs can even think about displaying it.

I understand the difference between interlaced & progressive...but I was wondering where can you get a 1080p signal...or is that just the next best thing?

wow...after seeing 1080i I thought...."How can it get any better?"!!

WM9HD is one of the few sources of 1080p content.
