Just finished patching up my fishing waders

Alright everyone listen up!

VERY IMPORTANT: Does everyone have suitable tow points in the front and rear? Preferably something that a hookles strap can be looped onto. Class III receivers are great for the rear but stock explorers do not have much for the front. If anyone who doesn't have front hooks can't get them before saturday please bring an extra strap to go around the frame before we hit the trails.

We all know a stock truck might get stuck more easily, but its not so bad if it can be pulled out easily

We had to use the upper control arm when my friend buried his '01 sport. It worked and nothing broke but threw off the alignment real bad :p Now we just put a strap around the frame and tuck the loose end under the hood until we need to use it.

Question for everyone. I'm just finishing my snorkel, and other than sealing the air box openings do I need to do anything to the box where the top and bottom meet? Is the gasket on the filter enough or do I need more? Thanks guys.

I have the round air box.. that seal on there is enough to keep mine sealed.

hey albi1cnobi1, from my experience.. and you witnessed it.. i didn't get any water in my intake box after driving through the lake ..even though it killed my trans ..i just made sure i sealed the intake hole properly and never had a water problem after that

It will seal pretty well because the gasket that is on the filter is seamless and mates with both surfaces. Even if there is a very small way for water to get in it wouldn't be a problem unless the entire airbox was submerged (hopefully that wont happen)

it really wont be much of a problem, the suction is going to take the path of least resistance, so it will suck from your snorkel before the small gaps between the top and bottom of the airbox, you may get a tiny bit in the box and soak the filter, but chances are you wont get enough to hydroloc, mine is the square style, and no gasket and mine has been submerged completely without issue

What kevin said is very true. It's like trying to drink soda through a broken straw. Sadly I couldn't get a snorkel installed in time for tomorrow but i sheilded the intake area from splashing and got a filter sock that should also help. Only way it'll really get water in is if I submerge the filter. Not as good as a snorkel but we'll see how it goes :p

And gabe, he11 yea its gonna be great

Might be picking this up for like $500-$600... this would be the DD & never see the mud. No leaf sag either which is nice.

All it needs is a battery.
