Capturing video from a VHS C?

Subject says it all, I need to transfer the video from a VHS C tape to my computer. I have done it plenty of times before with Hi8 tapes using a firewire, but I am confused when it comes to this....because I am going to have to run it off my VCR since the camera used to record with does not have a firewire port, just the usual Video Out port that you'd plug into your television.

You need to either get a video card with a video in or a capture card. A new video card would probably be the cheapest way to go.

I just coughed up the money for a new video card, and really don't want to spend that kind of cash on something I am only going to use once. Is there no conversion cable I could run from the camera, or even from a vcr? What about converting the VHSC tape to Hi8?

Try a composite video input (RCA_ S video_audio) plug from whatever device to USB). That will get the files in question to your 'puter. Next is to do the tough part, Burn it to VCD_DVD_SVCD. The cost of a DVD_VCD_SVCD (mp3_CD) player is less than $50, the composite device is about $80 but it is also PORTABLE, make all kinds of movies, take on the wheelin' trips plug to laptop aim camera and start recording LIVE video. Radio Shack carries a model that I use Dazzle DVC-80, this thing is really handy. I use it very often, I design, build, install, train, and document, Explosives related equipment for the Army and mw Dazzle is a second brain when a depot calls a few years after I last saw (video on file NOW) the equipment. Sorry for the long post but don't waste your money on cards, WHEN it can be handled externally @ less than half the price (including buying the DVD_CD_VCD_SVCD_mp3 player @ walmart)
