The Faithwheelers our hosting their 4th annual obstacle course. Several sections of the courses will be completely redesigned, including a revamped mud bog to handle more traffic - and that doesn' mean easier. More challenging climbing obstacles in the Tuff Truck course including a new UROC style obstacle. The mogules and trenches are being replaced - you'll need to wait and see what we're doing here! The Obstacle course for smaller rigs will be lengthened and get a little tougher. There will be optional lines for the well built smaller rigs to test their skills and capbilities.

As always the event is FREE to everyone. Preregistration is recommend but not required. We'll have more info up on our website at www.faithwheelers.com early in Febuary.
Located near Eatonville, WA

Hey Faithwheelers!

I just registered on your site, but I need to get a message to you guys...

Is Tom Clark from Extreme Off-Road Magazine going to be covering your event? He called me to tell me he was. Do you guys know anything about that? Get with me over at www.UCORA.org and let me know so that I can get back with Tom with some info!

gl, contact 'gibby'. He visits this site occasionally.

He is probably the organizer for the Faithwheelers.

"Gibby" is our clubs' president and I have sent him a email, he should respond shortly.
my understanding is extreme offroad magazine was there last year and will be again this year.

I met with Tim and Brandon from Xtreme Offroad Mag last week. They'll not only be at the event covering it, but they'll also be helping with promotion, sponsorships and even building the ONLY UROC style obstacle in Western, WA

Last year they were there as a sponsor and took a bunch of pics but the article was cut at the very end of the first edition - just not enough room. I was still listed as a contibuting photographer and writer even though the article didn't make it to press. This year it will be a feature article.

The event is very unique in that it's not a competition and because we not only have multiple mud bogs this year to accomodate the various rigs, but we also have multiple obstacle courses for everything from stockish to heavily modified rigs, to rock crawling buggys. On top of that it's free for participants and spectators!

Faithwheelers Off Road Obstacle Course June 25,2005

This year's event will be co-sponsored by Xtreme Offroad Magazine. The faithwheelers and Xtreme Offroad Magazine will be building a brand new rock crawl obstacle this year. This will be for the hard core rigs and buggies - similar to a UROC style obstacle.
The event as always is still FREE to all participants and spectators.
We'll have 2 mud bogs this year. For the 35" and under rigs, we'll have a classic mud bog. For the big rigs, look out!. This isn't a balls to the walls mud bog, you'll need to be able drive as well. They'll be hidden logs on diagonals to wake you up. You'll need to climb out of one section and then drop right back into a deep water hole followed by some off-cambered section section and finally - if you can get out of the "hole that Markus built"... you deserve some kudos! Here's a big of a guy getting out last year.

The Obstacle Course is built for the smaller rigs, under 35" tires. We're going to be rebuilding much of this so I'm not sure what's going to be new till we start digging and building. It will be designed so that a stock 4x4 can find lines to get through but may need some tugs, but there will be some challenging line options to make it interesting for ANYONE. Here's a pic of a rig going through pothole alley last year.

The Tuff Truck Course is the same course that the Webfooters will be using on their playday in May. However, it will be tweaked and a few obstacle changed around. Plan on it being tougher that last year and EXPECT to not make it through without a winch or tug. The rock pile from last year is being revamped as well. Last year only 1 rig made it through and he flopped twice on the way.

Now that I'm LIFTED! I put this on my calendar ;)

We are putting out a call to those who support the troops. We will be sending wheeling mags to the troops in Iraq. We sent a box a month ago and will have some more to send out next week along with Xtreme Offroad Mag. If you're coming to our event bring your old magazines and drop them off at the Faithwheeler Booth at the start of the mud bog. We'll mail these to Iraq after the event. If you're unable to attend and know someone that is, give the mags to them to bring along. Anything is good, ATV, trucks, dirt bikes, etc.

Thanks

Gibby

Not to highjack the thread but do you have an address where we can send our old mags? I posted a thread on this subject. Thanks.

Send them to the Faithwheelers Offroad club
1606 Birch Court
Milton, WA 98354

If you want to send them direct...
SSG Michael Shields
B Co 1/198th 155BCT
APO AE 09325

On the cover letter, mention that Todd Gilles (he's a member of our church that just finished a tour of duty in Iraq) said that we could send the mags to him and he would distribute them.

Hijack GLADLY accepted.

Hey, did any of your guys come to our event last year?

Dale, I couldn't find the registration on your web site.

We're looking for it as well. Matt had written a script form. When you fill it out, it emails the info to me. I've got a word file that we use, but not everyone has Microsoft Word. If I can get a word file converted to a PDF then I'd be good to go.

Robin was out today to help test obstacles and design the rock climb course.
I got to have a ride in the buggy - kewl!

We took a few pics. I forgot my camera so I used his.
This is the first part of the new hill climb. The descent into the ditch is fairly steep but you can descend under control. The water at the bottom has a lot of silt in it and is sloppy. The upslope is pretty tough. At the top there is a sharp turn around in a VERY swampy area.

The return portion of this is steeper. On the downside it will be hard to stop the rig - a controlled slide. At the bottom we added some boulders to keep from burying the nose of the rigs into the upslope. Robin pretty much ate up the uphill portion. He has to work pretty darn hard to make it up this section.

This is no easy climb!

Justin got to go for a ride this time through.

Robin posed for this picture. Those are 49" IROKs!

Even with this rig, he did have to take a couple runs to bump over a few places.

This was formerly the mogules section, now it is more of a frame twister.
cranberrylake045.jpg

Hey, where'd the front right tire go?
cranberrylake047.jpg

This was our Sausage Trap, but it didn't stop him. Still, this V section will make a lot of rigs work hard!

See what I mean!

Since I had just dropped Robin's camera in a mud puddle, this picture was the last we were able to get today.

All I see are boxes with an x inside? Pics no worky.
