Question Silverstar's, I NEED HELP INSTALLING PLEASE

Hey guys, i got some silverstar headlights (not fogs) for my 98 ford explorer sport, and im having trouble installing them. Is there someone that could give me some step by step instructions please!! I am in desperate need. I am not very good with mechanics or electronics for that matter, so if you wouldnt mind 'dumbing' it down for me. lol. Thanks!

Edit,
OK, so how do you get the battery out, do you have to unscrew the wires coming from the positive and ground. "Cause i started to do that, but it looked like if i finished it, i wouldnt be able to get them back on again. So, how do you get the battery out from the car? Thanks

Welcome to the best Explorer site on the web. As with all forums, search features come in very handy. I found this thread discussing your issue. Good luck!

"Unplug the elect. connector from the bulb. Rotate the retaining ring about 1/8 in clockwise and slide it off the base. Pull the bulb straight out. Put new bulb in, being carefull not to touch the bulb glass with your bare fingers." This is out of the Haynes Manual which you should buy. I find it easier to remove the battery & air cleaner to get to the bulbs. If you have touched the bulbs wipe them off w/isopropal alcohol.

Edit. Right on celly..I got sidetracked answering and you got in...Good advise.

Is there really a significant diff, w/ the silver star's verses the regular stock headlights?

They're definitely brighter. Lots of people claim they get flashed a lot with them. I don't, but can attest to the brightness. Sylvania claims they look like HID, but I beg to differ. They're not overly white like they claim to be, but definitely better than stock and still the yellowish hue that stock bulbs have, but a bit different colour.

purchasing them online would be a lot cheaper than in the store

Silverstars are $50+tax in the store{here}, but like $35ish off Ebay

the Plasmaglows ive only found online ($37 shipped off of www.oznium.com )

from what i know both are DOT approved

Silverstars are the way to go. The HIDish bulbs are tacky. It's easy to tell they aren't HID so why lose the visible light?

Yes, they're DOT and VA State Police legal, so you'll pass inspection with them. I have them in my 4Runner and they're better than stock. I don't need them yet in my Ex since the '04 lights are bright enough.
