after reading some comments, i see people have put a 1-2 inch lift on their trucks. for anyone who has put the 2" body lift on, how difficult is it? and for anyone who has just cranked up their torsion bars and put blocking in the rear, what type of blocking, where did you put it and how does it stay in?
thanks for the info.

hey what year is your truck if its pre 95 you can space up the coils or get 2" coils and use either shackles or add a leaves in the rear and if it's a 95 + then you can crank up the torsion bars and use add a leaves or shackles or maybe block not sure if 95 + is spring over or under.

IT'S A 97 XLT. I KNOW ABOUT THE TORSION LIFT IN THE FRONT, BUT IT'S THE REAR I AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING PRODUCT FOR. (LIKE EVERYONE ELSE)

ET,

Like you said you already have the info on the torsion bars, so I'll skip the front.

For the rear you have a spring under axle setup, so blocks are not an option. I've read the discussions about longer shackles, but this is a custom setup (you have to find the right length, they aren't made by anyone specifically for the Explorer) and IMHO a Mickey Mouse solution. Do it right the first time. Take it to a suspension or spring shop and get them to put a full length add-a-leaf in and some teflon spacers. Not only will you gain 2 to 2 1/2" of lift, but also a firmer rear, and increased load carrying capacity. You know how your rear end probably sags when you've got a full tank of gas and put in some groceries? Not anymore!
