I assume that the kit you are speaking of is the one that replaces all of my suspension arms, and shock towers with the aluminum versions that have about double the shock mounting positions.

I installed the Hot Bodies threaded aluminum shocks and have really liked them. I think I will be replacing the springs with a variable rate soon. Given what the shocks cost I don't want to replace them again

My next planned upgrades are going to be the Traxxas 2055 high torque steering servo, a set of Aluminum heat sinks for the titans, Shock towers, and if I can afford them new A-arms all the way around. I am trying to keep all the stuff that comes in contact with rocks and obstacles silver to hide the scratches, and everything else blue cause it's pretty

The next set of upgrades after that is to replace all of the steering components with the aluminum, and titanium tie-rods, If I have extra cash I'll add some bulkheads and braces to that order.

What a sick addiction I have

So can anyone tell me what maintenance needs done for the transmission? I can't find anything in my book or on the Traxxas web site. Everything else has had it's first teardown and rebuild.

You really shouldnt worry about taking apart the tranny. My had always held up fine and didnt need any type of rebuild. The proline suspension is what you described except its not aluminum, its just a much stiffer plastic. and it comes with lunsford titanium turnbuckles. As for the steering servo, doesnt it already have the 2055 in it? i know my T did. I would swap it for a Hitec servo, better build quality. Hitec 645 servo

Actually you are right about the servo it is the 2055. I read the number off the shift servo previously

Basically I want a little more torque out of the steering so I can turn the whels when sitting stationary. It gets kinda tricky negotiating tight areas when you have to be moving to get the tires to turn. I'll have to ge read up on the hitec unit.

Thanks for the tranny info, I couldn't find anything about it.

I believe that the stock 2055 servo only puts out 80oz-in of torque. while the hitec one does 133...dont have the site open so i dont remember how much exactly.

Your numbers were correct.
Thanks for the tip. This is my first real RC vehicle, so it's all new to me.
By appearances it looks to be a direct upgrade, I wasn't sure how many of the electronics I could swap for non Traxxas parts, but that looks damn near the same. Guess I'll go add it to my wish list

Going brushless is bloody costly. I have set up a cycle of upgrades, That is one of the last!! I am having a hard time deciding between some cheaper low turn motors or just dishing out the big bucks.

You have a very nice truck there. It reminds me of mine accept mine is the gas 2.5 I have some pics if anyone wants to see it. It has a full body roll cage, titanium transmission skid plate, aluminum front and rear skids, aluminum front and rear bumpers, a servo skid plate ,the rpm heavy duty control arms in front, stiffer springs, and a tunned banna pipe which gives nice low end power and a great sound, oh and cant forget the steel spur gear.

Well I think you will find you will want to upgrade to MIP CVD's and different motors... and the heavy duty steering servo.... I had mine almost all aluminum pics below.... I even made the 4 pack pigtails and well the cheap motors i had didnt handle it.... I had way to much in it and had to get rid of it cause I was spending way to much on it... I was spending 100-200 a week on it there for awhile.... Good luck and I am sure you will love it the more you mod it....

very nice!!!

I haven't done much lately as I have spent a lot on getting ready for summer.
The only thing it has gained is a set of heat sinks and titanium turnbuckles since my last post.

I am having a very hard time not ordering a set of Proline 40 series Moab tires and rims though. Not to mention the HD steering servo and more aluminum parts..................

That is good advice on the CVD's, but I am waiting to see where I go engine wise, and if I decide to put the spool sitting in the tool box to work or not.

I would really like to go brushless in the future, but there are some nice low turn motors out there as well. We'll see.....besides the Titans have been good motors so far

Yeah I know about the brushless bug.... I was getting the urge to buy a brushless setup real bad, then I had to think of all the things I could buy for my DD.... So I sold my e-maxx.... gear it deep and some torque motors and you are ready for some climb'n action... Later, Jason

I would go for the New servo. You will notice a huge difference in handling and the speed the wheels will turn from lock to lock.
