How do I Disengage 4wd auto

Just recently bought a 99 explorer with the 4wd auto feature and i was wondering if there was a way to disengage the auto four wheel drive. I read on this website a while back that i could do it and someone posted a wiring diagram showing how to do it, but i could not download it. so if anyone knows what i need to do and knows if it will hurt my car any please let me know.

The pics on the first page are no longer valid links. If you read more of the thread it'll give you instructions.
