Yikes! Hey Rookie you might be surprised to see where we live, I have elk, bears, turkeys, and the like right out my office window.....Nobody in this "neighborhood" has bird feeders, it is impossible to have a garden even with a 7' fence, and our dog is chasing coyotes and turkeys almost daily.

When it comes to fluids spilling from my rigs, or cleaning up hazerdous materials from my projects you better believe I catch what I can and dispose of it "properly", part of treading lightly. Its just how I was brought up, thats all...I was an Eagle Scout you know, hahaha. I am SICK of seeing what people do to our country so I just try to do my part, and practice what I preach, that is all, I am not out to change the world...just do my part.

You had to know somebody would say something when you are jsut flushing paint and stripper onto your driveway....that stuff ends up in the water supply one way or another. I am not saying your fenders are responsible for global warming or anything but I had to point it out!

Lord knows I have spilled my share as well, Like after I am so careful to collect the 12 quarts of ATF, I go and knock the entire bucket over......hahahaha

the earth is not getting warmer. its getting colder. everytime we have a massive volcanoe explosion, the sulfur release does something with the atmosphere and in turn, cools the earth. our vehicles cant offset volcanoes especially with all of the emission controls we have now. i saw it on disconvery channel... so it must be right.

Yea, that stuff is bad. I read on the back of it just how dangerous it is. I did clean the dried stuff up in the driveway today and put it with the discarded paint cans. I really have no other stuff to use it on. Next time if I do use the stuff I'll just scrape it off, forget the power washer. and put in container and float it down the potomac. Just kidding. It will go to where the motor oil and paints go for collection.
At any rate, thanks about the fenders. Been helping Jack today on his kids pulling tractors. Then we'll paint the B11. He's talking somekind of epoxy primer first then the paint.

JS91X the southern part of the state has some really big rack deer. Several of those counties have no rifle season, just bow hunting.

Just more boring pics of paint removal. Applied that aircraft paint removal. Instead of using power washer just going to lift or scrape off. This way don't have to worry about run off.

Just bush on some more stripper on those paint spots and lift or scrap off.

Made by Klean strip. I've had it for a long time. I think Auto zone carries it. It does not take long at all to bubble up. Then it dries up a little and just peels right off. Now keep in mind, I have no idea how it would work on other type car finishes.

I just googled it a few times and found that a lot of people use it. One site said that Walmart sells it in spray cans also. Like one site that I found says, which I found out, is that it evaporates so fast. If you live in an area that has low humidity, you might want to put a sheet of plastic over the applied stuff or you'll have to recoat.
What does not evaporate off stays in the paint and you just scrape it off with a plastic scraper. One site actually says to use water to hose off. I don't think it mixes with water. After so many minutes you do not see it anymore. All thats there is this bubbly paint. When I sprayed mine off I just went and picked up the gobs of paint and disspossed of it in a can. I really don't think there was any thing in the water. But why take a chance. Plus its easier to scrape off with out going around picking the stuff up.
Some places on the B11 like the roof that only has the original paint, I might just sand the paint a little with 1000-1500 grit with out taking the paint off and let this act as the undercoat. Then paint over that. As long as the orginal paint is nice and smooth.

yes sometimes by taking it down to bare metal you are creating more work for yourself the factory paint already fills in low spots and can be feathered.....
But I mean these are trucks, not show cars! hahaha

I've used aircraft paint remover many a times and it works pretty well. There was one time I used it on, well I can't remember what I used it on, but it didn't come off and I had to sandblast it in order for it to come off.
Lookin good rookie!!

Stripped the paint of the inner wheel well. This would have been tuff to sand with all the angles and protrusions.

Primered and Blitzed it black with J Deere paint. The reason that is painted is because that area is exposed when I remove the quick disco fenders.

This rear quater panel had so many layers of paint with a lot of nicks that I removed it all down to bare metal. It was primered and again used the Blitz Black. This should protect it more then just primer untill we paint over it. Just light sand and paint. Now the whole side is smooth This was the part that was silver from the factory and had been painted several times. The red part above I'll probably just sand a little and paint over it.

The more I look at it the more I like that satin black. The amazing thing about this spray can paint is that it looks like it was shot with a spary gun. My son said I ought to do the whole truck like that. It would give it a kind of Gangsta look LOL. Leave the roll bars red. Reminds of the old hot rods of years ago. Another thing that black really lets me see what area needs more prepping.

The main reason the powder coated coilover hoops are covered is not so much of the overspray paint. But because the stripper takes the powder coat off I would have never imagined that. Well now I know how to remove that stuff if need to.

Sir Kirby, thanks for your exuberance in this project. You can't imagine my how I want to get it done. But it still a few months away for the MUCH needed funds to arrive. So for now it's just a lot of old fashion elbow grease that has to be applied.

How do you guys like that satin black paint? This week I'm going to have all the body work done for painting. After I finish sanding and body work, I'm going to primer the rest of it and then throw a coat of that Blitz black on it. This will keep it from rusting better then just primer. Then I'll be able to see how it looks all Black. I can ethier leave it or lightly sand and do the red. I know the black will show the dirt and dust. But man would it be so easy to touch up. That stuff from the can goes on so easy with no runs. Not mentioning just a little different looking then just another red B11.

Since I'm planning on doing a lot of water crossings. This property that I lease for hunting has many places to cross a creek called Back Creed. It's about 30 feet across and has many different depths depending on rain fall. So I thought about a snorkel. Since my fenders come off for working on front end. I came up with an idea of coming up thru the window cowl bwtween antena and that hood hinge. Then maybe making a fiberglass housing on top of cowl that would transition to a round tube going up along side of windshild. This would also made to be removable.

My plan would be to take the snorkel from carb, back to that area that I cut out below window louvered cowl, turn towards pass. side and then up thru where I mentioned above. Could also just box that area in and tap a round out in the engine area and then tap a round out of top of cowl. Thoughts?
