Repairing radio bezel
My radio bezel has a small hole in the rubber-like overcoating. Has anyone tried to patch this material? Also, anyone know of a good color match for the tan/khaki interior color in a 1996 XLT?

Don't bother trying to patch it. Just replace it or sand all the rubber stuff off and paint it.

I agree that attempting a repair will probably take a lot of time and produce less than satisfactory results. However, I know from experience that you can get a nice radio bezel on eBay for about $20 or less. I haven't priced a brand new one lately, but I think they run about $55+.
I just did a quick search for "Explorer radio bezel" and got about 10 hits. Good luck! |
