Finally got the 2nd Ford in the driveway ...

Hello fellow auto enthusiasts. I finally got a 2nd ford in the driveway. Im disappointed that it's not another mustang but glad its a ford.

Last Tuesday I took delivery of a 05 Dark Blue Eddie Baur 4x2 V6 Explorer. The only options on it are 3rd row seating and auxillary ac unit. I almost ordered parts for it Monday night, but the wife talked me into waiting until we took delivery. I listened to her since the expo is supposed to be her car. So, Tuesday I moved the wipers down, debadged the expo, ordered cai, clear corners, window tint for front doors, and a pats3 key. I just installed my escort 8500 radar detector today. I will probably order lowering springs tomorrow.

My other Ford is a 98 Crystal White V6 Mustang. Ive lowered it 2" w/ eibach springs and tokico struts/shocks and added poly bushings, strut tower brace, steeda g-trac bar, custom subframe connectors, caster/camber plates, 8.8 rear w/ 3.73s and tloc, solid lower control arms, rear sway bar, and an aluminum driveshaft. OE 15" wheels were tossed for 99 Cobra 17" wheels and tires w/ Hawk performance pads to stop a little better. The stock wing was replaced w/ a Saleen S351 wing. The stock lighting was replaced w/ cobra headlights and clear corner lamps. Sequential Turn Signal modules were added to the taillights. Custom fender emblems were made from Cobra II door emblems. The engine has had some minor tweaks so far ... ASP crank pulley, MAC cold air intake, half-shafted and polished TB, custom H-pipe, flowmaster 40deltas, and 99GT tailpipes. I'm hoping to fully polish and port the intakes, heads, and do a cam swap by summer 06. The interior has been treated w/ billet pieces from MGW and a 99GT leather steering wheel. The stereo has been beefed up a little w/ JL Audio subs, Altec Lansing components, and HiFonics amplifiers. Another escort 8500 radar detector keeps me out of trouble w/ the law.

is truckexpressions the cheapest place to get ground force springs? are there any write-ups on installing these springs on the 05? how do the GF springs compare to FRP or Eibachs?

pictures are not working.

Well just be carefull, learn the car and always yield to right of way

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...d.php?t=140854

Or the above link will happen

We resently priced one, and where sticker shocked... Funny how we are a ford family but it seems from 04+ they have moved further away from our wallet, yet GM has gotten closer. *sigh* Well ford will learn one day when they lose sales due to priceing thems selves out of the market. I hope you got a great deal on the SUV. I have a feeling the next car in our family price range will be a KIA if the current manufactures keep this up.

06 Explorer EB edition for 46k... Thats just nuts. Got an 05 Ascender fully loaded to the gills with every option for 22k. Everything is leather, heated, and moves in some form or way with a memory setting I just dont get it...

So how much did the "family plan" save ya off sticker?

pictures fixed. thnx.

MSRP = $35,795
Family Plan = $31,236 - $500 = $30,736
Rebates = $4000 + $500 = $4500
-----------------------------------------------
$26,236 ... that's $9,559 off MSRP :up:

Financed $25K w/ my credit union at 4.24% :up:

Saving $20/mo on insurance and fuel econonmy will be about the same as the 01 V6 Stratus we traded in.
