happend to my 2000 2x, i just had to empty the tank and refill it
its probably the little sensor that detects how much fuel is left

Anyone? After a fill up gauge reads 3/4 full. After around 100 miles or so it starts to act normally and works fine. It never indicates a full take basically when i fill'er up. Operates normally when fuel gets below 3/4.

Perhaps something is interfering with the float where it is unable to go on up. If it is like the 99 there is a yellow and white stripe wire that feeds that signal. approximately 3 volts should be very near full, 1.7 would be 1/2 and .5 volt would be empty. If you use a gauge substitute 145-160 ohms should be full. I suppose if you unhook the inline connector it should go past full. That would set a DTC for a high voltage on the fuel sender circuit and the fuel pump, but it would be a quick and easy test to verify the gauge itself is ok. The inline connector is not too hard to get to if you pull the one that comes out about under where the drivers seat is (under the vehicle).

I just tried that, i have very little fuel in my tank right now and when i disconnected that plug it my fuel gauge went up to 3/4 tank as if i had just fueled it and no farther.. So im assuming its not the fuel tank or sensor but now i think it might have to be the dash gauge. Any other ideas fwd of the fuel tank?

Sounds like it must be either the gauge or the antislosh module. The antislosh module plugs into the back of the cluster. With the gauge removed from the cluster the voltage from the slosh module should be about 9 volts at the full mark if i remember right. Seems like 3V at empty, 6V at midscale, and 9V at full. I did not check the voltages with the gauge installed in the cluster. Sounds like you are half the way there.
