pre runner ranger!??

okay if i wanna make a mock/ fx level ranger,, what do i need?? On the options i saw that the 2005 modles have 31 inch all terrain tires,, on 15' rim. Question is how large of a rim do i need, 15 x??? by what? not able to find out so far in my reading,, i was thinking of throwing some tires larger on it ,, just wanna basically make it look 4x4 style, but not get to crazy w/ the tire size,, i originaly thought of just putting 16' tirse on it, i drive 60 miles a day w/ this truck and dont wanna kill the gas milage too much,, it's a 98 ranger 4cly 2 wheel drive,, 5speed, so ,, question is,, tire size,? 15 or 16? along w/ anything else that i need to know, 2' suspension lift!!? / anything else?? I'm soooo confused,,lol, thanks all!!

pre running a ranger and making it look like an fx4 are two totally different things. a 15x 7 or 8" wheel will fit 31s no prob. if you want to make it look like the fx4 just give it a suspension lift, you can either get 3 to 3.5" lift spindles or 2.5" lift coils for that truck to give it lift, and for the rear just add blocks or add a leaf. with the spindles run 32's, with the coils run 31s, but now if your trying to pre run the thing you are going to go a totally different direction

I would try to stick with the susp. if possibale. As far as 31's and a 4 banger. Depends on your gears, and auto or stick? I'm guessing stick which isn't so bad. You'll just need to pick op some power some places. Do a Cat-back and K&N. This should help alot. I put a Gibson Exust on my old '96 and made a world of difference. With 3.73's and a 4 banger she did ok. 5th gear was almost worthless, and on hills had to drop down to third some times. I got rid of it because it was a 4 banger. 31's and 4banger will kill your milage too. I got about 12-13 on the street and 15 on the highway. You can see below that she had room for 33's easy, just no motor for it and I had no A/C. She had a custom 4" lift

okay got the pos working again

we'll after replacing a start for the bucket i'm ready to roll on w / the plans, i orderd 16'' rims from a 99 owner tear drop style, so throwing those on,,, tires still not decided from the tires u see on jeep rubicons or bfg all terrains, i'll be doing almost 99 percent on road driving, 70mph most of the time,,,
so pros and cons would be welcomed,,,

Rubicons some with Goodyear Wrangler MTR's, this is NTO s high mileage street tire. No MT is. these might last you 1.5 years depending on you (balance, rotate, etc)

If you want a decent aggressive on and some off road tire, look at AT's
