What does the mailman do everytime he has to deliver your mail with that electric fence? Does he have to use the intercom, or is there a mailbox outside of the gate? I hope that there is a notice, or at lease a few signs about the electric fence.

Yes. There's little yellow signs with a finger and a spark on them.

Mail boxes are at the begining of road. There's a large lockable metal box outside of the gate for packages. It's a well-oiled machine.

How many volts is that fence? How would it work if there is snow on it? Would it short out? Rain is intermittent, and doesn't completely cover all of it's areas like snow, so I would think that rain wouldn't be a problem.

Snapped a few pics of my work area. defently not a garage.

The first one is of the "Shed where I keep my junk. It is about 12'wide and I have about 16ft deep of my tools then past that is another 10ft or so with other peoples junk in it. In doors I added some dowels so I could store stuff in the doors to make use of some free space. I need to add afew more shelves as I cant fit everything I want to in there currently.

The second is where I park my truck out in front of the shed. It is in the side yard behind the fence so others cant see the mess. It works pretty well except for the slab isnt even close to level in any direction so trying to build on it is pretty hard.

It is all fed off of one 30amp 220v breaker coming from the house. The bad part is there is only my 1-220v oulet for the welder and then a 2gang box of 110 outlets so it makes getting power everywhere interesting. With only me working in it, it seems to work fine.

I need to clean mine and add some more light. I mostly use drop lights.

From the street

From the right looking left,

From the left looking right,

Down the middle,

I plan on putting a work bench in front of that pegboard soon. It's driving me nuts not having a place to work!

My Garage @ Home

I posted a pic a while back of where I do my wrenching, now these are where I park the Mountaineer.

The big ole American Flag:

Car washing supplies and an 8' ladder:

The water heater / heat pump closet:

I am particularly proud of the heat pump, my city had a rebate program if you switched to all electric. They paid $200 for my water heater and $200 a ton for heat pump. With my old gas furnace sucking the fuel, it was time for a change. I did the install myself, and saved $1000 in labor charges. And since the city of Jonesboro has some of the lowest utility rates in the country, my bills dropped $100/a month. I pay on average $120 for electricity, water, sewer and trash pickup.

I do all my work in the parking lot at my apartment complex. The Administration probably doesn't "love" it, but they dont care enough to stop it. And the security guards are helpful.

I need to get a nice job so I can buy a house with a garage... Getting ahead of myself again...

I want a warehouse like mountaineergree has, haha.

I have cinder block walls in my garage also. I painted them a gloss white, what a difference in lighting the place up. Just a thought.
