Heres my garage :3 The pics are kinda old and the garage is a little cleaner :P The parts room is this little greenhouse added on to the back of the garage with its own "door" to keep the drafts out. Greenhouse no more! Now it holds spare parts, solvent tank, washing machine and various paints n junk. Garage has been changed around a bit since that view from the outside to the messy garage. Now theres nothing on that far left wall and most of whats on the left, is now on the right :P Most of the stuff in there's from princess auto, 12 ton press (PA) 3 1/2 ton floor jack (PA) 12 ton pipe bender (PA) Suction tank (Really handy! PA) Engine stand (PA) Solvent tank (PA) n other junk. Thats my goof of a roomate BTW with his SAS v8 swapped s10

Some very early pics of the garage/carport

The slab is 25 feet across by 28 feet long (4 ft at the end slope down)

We built the shed first (10x16) and the garage/carport roof will go over and join the shed roof so the shed will basically be part of the carport..

pouring the 2nd 1/2...

Its pretty much cured now (has been covered for 2 weeks).. I need to seal it since the explorer does drip some...

We should have the Pilars up within the next few weeks.. then I need to order the engineered lumber for the beams/rafters...

The open beam span is 24 feet and the rafter span is I think 24 ft.. We will use TJI for the rafters. I don't know what the beam is.. I think its some kind of glulam.

I've moved- new shop location- My grandfather built this shop to do wood working in, he retired from it and turned it over to me. Lots of room, plenty of storage, plug ins everywhere. No 220v though.

I realized how much "stuff" I have now from looking at these pictures, especially spray paint

I built the workbench from an old piece of catwalk, I still need to put another layer of plywood on it for strength. I hung the light over it last night- built those brackets myself from some lumber I had laying around. I hung the light so I could easily remove it if I needed to put a large item on the workbench.

Still have more work to do getting things like I want, but it's getting there.

Ok here it is. Pretty much all done We all know that's a lie right? The garage is never really done. Just to recap, This is 30x30 concrete pad, that was divided up with a 30x20 garage: a 10x8 shed: and a 22x10 patio, all under one roof.

I finally got everything moved in and put away. So here are a few pics of the inside.

Here you can see the roll-up door on the left. Next to that is a "squirril cage" fan. Want to move a LOT of air? Get one of these fans! That brings us to the welding bench, on the far right.

Here's a better shot of the welding bench. Then of course the shop fridge. Also just behind the fridge is the door leading to the shed section fo the garage. All gas power equipment, yard tools, and the air compressor are all stored in there. This keeps the noise level down a bit from the compressor.

The main work bench is 16ft long and totally solid. It's mounted to both the wall and the floor. Here's where I get to talk about the fun stuff. I spent a few days befor hanging all the pegboard, doing all the wiring for a 5.1 surround sound. There is also 2ch sound going to outdoor speakers on the patio. This is all rigged into an old 2.8Ghz desktop so I have full access to all my networked media. One other things I wanted to point out in this pic are just left of the diamond-plate tool box. YUP those are shoping carts! Ya know those small ones, I think they're called "express carts". With just a little bit of modification, those things fit right in to the pegboard.

Here's a shot of the bench doors open. As you can see, they have been lined with poly-bins. This has been the most useful idea in here to date. Bolts, screws, fuses, change, and all my other small parts end up in these. The black shelf that you see is actually "gondola" shelving. This is the stuff you see in the stores. Very Heavy Duty Stuff!

Lastly the rest of the wall is covered in more of the gondola shelving. This stuff hass a weight limit of like 250lbs. per shelf. Did I mention this stuff is Heavy Duty?

Thought I would share me and my dad's workshop. We are currently rebuilding a 1984 CJ-7 Jeep Renegade. Finishing up the body, sending it out for paint, and finishing it up. The frame and everything on it is complete.

Sorry, but my explorer was in the driveway so no pics of it and this is the basement.

Well my tool collection is growing at a very nice clip, but being in an apartment I have no room for it all.

So I converted the 'linen closet' into my tool shed.

I'm sure no one cares, but because I'm like a proud father with my growing tool collection, so I'm going to list most of the stuff.

Ignoring the top shelf, below that:

- Extension cord, a
- Work light,
- Sander and sandpaper
- Sawzall,
- Sledge, tape and putty.

Next shelf is a littany of all sorts of good canned stuff and cleaners. Don't care to name it all, but there's a couple of cans of PB blaster, rust reformer, buncha paints, waxes, cleaners, glue, sealants, etc.

Next shelf is paint stuff, and my soldering kit.

Below that is a good one:

Epic amounts of screws, bolts, nails, tackes, nuts, etc both in the little drawers and the ziplock on the right.

- Wiring kit and toolbox is behind the drawers
- Drill
- Dremel,
- All purpose tool kit
- cleaners

Next to the laundry bin:

- Mini shop vac in the corner
- Set of 20+ screwdrivers
- Rubber mallet
- The crown jewel - my Craftsman 263 piece socket and wrench
- On top of that is my main toolbox with a shitload of stuff in it

Hanging on the walls (when I move outta here I am gonna have a LOT of holes to fill, hahaha):

Left side - oil pan, drop lights, laser level.

Right side - Saw, crowbar, caulk gun, shit loads of tape and a couple of hacksaws.

Not pictured but there in the front - hi-lift jack, assorted spay paint, canned paint and shellac.

Best I can do for the time being, but I've rarely needed a tool I didn't have.

Heres mine... I just got the truck out of it today and was able to clean it up some...

The weight bench doubles as a shelving unit...lol

Too many to list, I was an ASE certified mechanic for 7 years, before I joined the Army, so I have just about everything you need to overhaul just about anything in those boxes. The only thing I have to borrow is hole saws.. I havent gotten my own yet...lol

Now I only work on the cars I choose to, so life is good. After I got out of the Army I became a contractor so when Im not overseas you can probably find me here.

I had a "macsimizer" at one time... Had the room for everything and noone said anything to me...trouble was the payments on it were more than my car! lol

Its all in how well you work with what you got.

lol, they can be quite expensive. I will tell you that what I made at the dealer wasn't much at all, so i couldn't afford the best of anything. So I resorted to Harbor Freight, and I got made fun of for that too....but after a month or so, the guys had to borrow my stuff because they didn't have one (probably due to Mac or Snap On prices). I still have everything i bought from there, intact....except for the light duty 3 jaw puller, found out it doesn't work on front hubs when you use an impact....lol

okay so a few years later, married and we are now a dual income home, I have been fighting this battle for some time now to keep my garage a shop and not a storage unit..

the day has finally come I have it all back! well 97% of it anyways, the cats get 1% and the wife/house crap gets 2%

when I first bought my house about 4 years ago:

I re-epoxied (word?) the floor, have organized, hung, new tool holders (thanks honey!), new tools everywhere (thanks honey, wow!! what a woman!), re-wired, re-hung, re-located, re organized, tossed out, sold, bought and refinished the entire space... its a small garage but it is my shop. The tools are clean, the camping crap is stored, the old engines are gone, the furniture has been put back in the house, and I am ready to do an oil change and detail some trucks!!

The Rzr s and the BII get parked in here from here on out.. I can now pull trucks in and finish projects... I am a happy happy man, I have ALOT of projects stacking up but the garage situation was FIRST... the house is a mess but the garage is BACK BABY!!

FYI: having a new son = one day job takes 3 weeks to accomplish
