Uwharrie is the only place I know of that is legal. There are other places, but they are mostly just mudd pits that you have to trespass to get to. Anybody else know of some places?

Look at this web site. http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/recreation/uwharrie/ See how far it is from where you live. This is the only place that I know of. I don't think it's too bad. If it's close too ya' and you wanna go. Lets set a date and go wheeling.

sweet. I know that I've said it before. I have a place down a Badin Lake. So we have a place to stay. It's about 15-30 minutes from Uwharrie. It's a wonderful drive by the way. I vote that we go in the fall. (Within a month or so.) When the leaves are changing. That way the women can look at the leaves while us guys look at each other getting stuck. Either that or in the spring before it get's hot. Maybe late April or early May?

I am 45 minutes Southwest of Asheville. Surrounded by federal forest land and/or NC game land. Tons of views like this if anyone wants to come out this way:

Dude, That's absolutely beautiful. How are the trails around there? Anything fun? Maybe challenging? Where exactly is this place?

Okay, we've got three. How about we go in November? It's $5 a day or $30 a season pass. There is no reason to buy a season pass. They close DEC, 15. Who else wants to go? I don't think we can stay at my place. It should be closed up for the winter. So We would have to camp out. The web site says that there are two places. The both have toilets so that issue is solved. However, one camp site is $5.00, and the other one is $12.00. It's your choice. If you get a double site, it's $24.00. It's your choice. Any input from you members?

There are TONS of trails around here. Its Jackson County. That field that I'm in, there are at least three different ways to it. One is easy, one a little more difficult but I still made it up and I'm mostly stock. Haven't been on the third trail. Oh and I've seen a bone stock 03 Pathfinder make it up the easy trail.

Edit: this pic is the Blue ridge parkway:

I don't have GPS but that has to be at or East of mile 430 on this map:
http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/map6.htm

Not a good idea to camp up there now though, its going to be cold. There are lower elevation camp sites though.

That's funny. I don't think that there are any trails around here that would be even close to a challenge for your Monster of a truck.

I vote for Nov 4-5 at Uwharrie. It's the first Saturday and Sunday of that month. My wife wants to go, but she works alternating weekends. If anybody else wants to go, and you think another time would be best, just count the weekends from there.
