space behind third row

I have a 2002 explorer XLT with 3rd row seating (leather if it makes a difference). What is the dimensions of the space behind the third seat. I need to design a subwoofer box but i cant measure the space because im at college and my explorer is 500 miles away. thanks

I got 14.5" at the bottom and 12" at the top of the third row seat. These are from the seat to the rear hatch.

Any luck in the design of the box? I just bought the same model and have come across the same problem. Thanks

I ensed up grabbing a truck box with a 12" Xtant sub, and mounted the amp under the middle of the 2nd row seats. Sounds freakin awesome, and I can use with the 3rd seat up or down. I also picked up a factory cargo for the rear to hide the box and other stuff when the 3rd seat is down. I have to unclip the cargo cover to put up the 3rd seat.

I mounted the amp under the middle of the 2nd row seat. It's under the middle part of the seat, the part that doesn't flip forward, only down. I ran the wires down the drivers side under the sill plates. When they got to the rear door, I removed the driver's side rear seat and ran the wires under the carpet to the middle seat. Then I reinstalled the seat making sure that the wires weren't getting pinched. It's an awesome place for an amp. East to tune and hook up.

If I think of it, i'll grab some pics.
