Easter Sunday Disaster

Well, today sucks ass.
Lost the tranny. It was even a rebuilt tranny, with less then 15k on the rebuilt.

I got hit centered in mud, and lost the tranny while going between reverse and drive to get it to rock back and forth. And I had major plans for this truck, and with this misfortune, I plan on purchasing something different.

RIP "Blue Smurf" - 1992-2006.

Or you could take this opportunity to beef up the blown one. I think that a paid off truck with lots of plans is better than a payment and no plans. Spend a little $ and bullet proof this tranny. Also, with only 15K, you may be able to get your shop to rebuild it again for free or cheap. Search a little on how to upgrade it, or do a search for a tranny to buy. I think there are a few threads with people trying to sell 1st gen parts.

Good luck,
GB

C4 auto?

You have other transmission choices these days to run behind that 4.0L

The A4LD rebuild is typically when the nightmare begins

WTF? You just left it out in a field? Was it at least your property?

Haha, I thought about leaving it there. Right now its in the garage, might drop the tranny tonight. My dad has a 88 ford ranger standard, see if I can talk him into the doing a swap.

Maybe buy a car, and use the car as the daily driver, and the explorer as a project vehicle.

A pic of the carnage

I decided that I'll put a different tranny in it, and not be so hard on it as well.
