Cold Air Intake for 91-94 Explorers

I was looking at the product reviews and could not figure out how to add this. I found a cold air intake that appears to be very high quality. I am looking to order it and was wondering if anyone here has used it? It can be found at http://www.ifab.net/products/93intake/91Ex/index.html

that isnt an actual cold air intake, it is an open element intake however.... welcome to the site, and do a search for it.... that chrome tube is more for bling than anything, and many people are happy with the kkm, www.kustomz.com

If you got the kkm and decided you wanted a larger diameter intake tube (between maf and throttle body) you can always make one. I made mine out of 3" abs drain pipe. $20 project that looks nice and performs great! Many others on here have done the same mod. I run that with an open element filter w/adapter I bought off ebay for like $20. It's something to consider.

Ive had both the kkm and the ifab.net which i currently have...i am using the kkm filter with the ifab.net intake pipe cause the filter they supplied was poor quality i thought..Id go with the kkm and save the extra 100.00

Damn, I've been looking all over ebay for an adapter for a first gen. What size adapter is it? Do you remember which ebay seller? Was it listed for an explorer, or was it listed under a different ford that used the same size maf sensor?

As for the adapter just search a little on Ebay. I don't remember the seller, but I think the company was like.. "BoMz RaCiNg" or somethin rediculous.. lol

I think Pep Boys and Auto Zone have those adapters now(15 bucks). Pep Boys has prefabbed pipes with elbows and everything if you are looking for that bling factor.

Ok guys, I did find an elbow that will work to attach an oil breather. I'm not even sure what this thing does for the truck, but it looks cool, and they make the blue color that matches the intakes from MAC of IFAB, or red to match the filters themselves. Anyway, I went to Advanced Auto, and by the misc. parts wall I found a product made by a company called HELP!. The part is a 5/8"" Heater Hose Elbow and the part number is 47062. I utilized a small piece of the current hose to help connect.I looked in the same area and found metal clamp connectors that worked perfect, and something called a rubber bypass cap that I used to cap off the hole coming off the intake tube. Anyway, if anyone wants to see, I'll post some pics.

I just read on RPS that not hooking that oil-breather to the pipe will cause the truck to run in a lean condition, as you are allowing unmetered air into the intake. That breather is apart of the PCV system which recirrculates blow-by gasses and what not back into the intake.
